Hi there! I’m running for Volunteering Officer primarily because I really love Nature and Conservation Society, it being the only society I could go to during the pandemic. It has truly helped me make friends and develop new interests – specifically, birdwatching! I also pick up extra information from the meetings that relates to my course, since I take both Earth and Biological science classes.

I also think that my experience and character would make me a great fit for the role of Volunteering Officer – I’ve already served as a Sustainability Ambassador for UCL, which demonstrates my organisation ability and work ethic. I had to work in specialist teams and communicate with others as part of this role as well.

In addition, I’ve done lots of volunteering myself to do with conservation and sustainability, which means I could give society members insight into different opportunities. During COVID, I even did virtual volunteering for ZSL, identifying different wild animals in camera trap images as part of their ‘Instant Wild’ project. Volunteering with City Harvest London has also allowed me to see how sustainable solutions are carried out on a social level.

Looking forward to helping out any way I can! I really appreciate all of your support.
