Lorenzo Aragon

im not sure if this is an actual position this year, but in case it is my rationale is the same as for the external relations position:

hi im lorenzo :) you can probably tell by my shadow-boxing but im pretty new to muay thai--that said, ive been really enjoying my time here and would love to get more involved!

as a current UCL calisthenics training officer, ive seen how rewarding successful inter-uni collaborations can be and how beneficial to progress a good sponsorship (in our case a calisthenics gym deal) can be and id be keen to help promote similar successes in another UCL sport society.

furthermore, having worked as both the coordinator of service clubs and as the president of the student council during my time in secondary education, i have had to organize school-wide events that required the coordination of multiple groups and ‘stakeholders’ and as such feel i have the necessary experience of serving as a leader and liaison for this position.

thank you for your time and i would appreciate your consideration :)

Pratik Rai

One year ago, I started competing in Muay Thai on a random Monday morning when my coach texted me and said he booked me a fight for the weekend. Fast forward to today, somehow I am a current active fighter who competes in A-Class/Pro-Am Muay Thai and Semi-Pro K1. The old me wouldn't believe it.

That's why I love the sport so much. Training is so enjoyable that before you know it, you've made so much progress that only people around you notice. Muay Thai brings all kinds of people from different backgrounds together. Whether your goal is to become the next world champion or just become fitter and more confident, everyone's goal has the same path, and we all work together.

Muay Thai has changed my life and given me the confidence to be myself, and as events sec, I want as many people to experience the same things I did. Training/Competing in Muay Thai seems incredibly daunting at first, but I promise taking the first step is always the hardest. Therefore, I'll make my goal to make as many people pick up MT and even compete!!!

I will constantly peer pressure you to compete. (I'm joking, kind of..)

I would attach a photo of me winning but that would be boring

Amanda Brodie

Hi, I'm Amanda- first year ISPS student.

I'm new to Muay Thai this year but I'm determined to put in what it takes to see progress and I'm genuinely excited to see where this new sport can take me.

The general atmosphere at training is great and the environment created by the people on the committee is so welcoming. I would love to be part of the team. 💪💪

As a first year, I would say I am extra excited for the events in store for the club. I reckon I can channel this extra excitement into helping out with admin and event planning. 🙃

I have previous experience in helping organise charity fundraising events and am currently in the process of fundraising for Refugee Action. I'd apply the communication, organisation, and time-management skills I developed from this to MT Event Sec responsibilities.

Overall, I'm excited to be part of the future of this club and would love to join the team.
