Hi!
Some of you may already know me due to my involvement within the society, but I’d love to reintroduce myself and share with you all my hope to become the next president of Law for All.
As a non law student, which many of the members will resonate with, the core goal of the society to encourage and support non law students entering the field is something I value as an aspiring solicitor. This society has the potential to help those a part of it become equipped with the awareness and experience to succeed, and I hope to be someone that can contribute to that.
In the months leading up to start the academic year, LfA has been a society that I’ve had much pleasure working within. From acquiring industry leading sponsors such as Allen & Overy and Herbert Smith Freehills, to orchestrating events that we can’t wait to share going forward, this society has become quite a passion project that I hope to see through most effectively as president.
I hope I’m trusted with your vote, and I look forward with anticipation to see what we can make this society become, for our benefit and for yours!
Thank you,
Rachel
Hi everyone! I'm Manon and I’m thrilled to be running for VP! I’m a second-year Politics & Sociology student at SSEES and taking an EU Law module outside of my department made me realize how needed this society is, hence my motivation to actively take part in it! If appointed president, my priorities will be:
-
Inclusive community: welcome students from all academic backgrounds, listen and respond to the needs of the society, ensure all members feel supported
-
Career Development: Connect members with legal professionals, with a focus on integrating the sector without a law degree (conversion courses, vacation scheme)
-
Workshops: career orientation sessions, application and CV workshops, Assessment centre training with professionals.
Thanks to my network, previous internships and extra-curricular activities, I believe I have developed a strong set of abilities necessary for this role: I own solid administrative and communication skills, and doing ballet at a National level developed my pragmatism and meticulousness. Allying this practice with IB training provided me with a solid work capacity while actively participating in numerous international MUNs developed my problem-solving and leadership skills.
Wishing to push the society in the right direction and continue the amazing work done by the current committee, I would be very eager to take on the role of President. I look forward to bringing my passion and expertise to this exciting role!
