The Lamorna Society has been the society I've enjoyed the most so far as a first year, having attended their very first workshop recently. The society's welcoming and calm atmosphere made me feel right at home and I'd love to get more involved in helping the society function and thrive. I've been able to try something new and I would love the opportunity to extend the experiences the society has to offer further onto other potential members. Additionally, I have had some experience in managing money for clubs, having been in charge of tuck shops in the past. However, I'd like to expand on this experience by taking on a more serious role, like the one of a Treasurer. Overall, I'm eager to offer a helping hand to a society that has been so friendly to me thus far!

Grace Yang

Hi, I'm Grace and I'd love to be your treasurer! Currently, I'm in my 4th year and I organise equipment and deal with numbers weekly whilst working at the hospital, so I wish to bring these organisation skills to ensure all the workshops run smoothly for everyone.

I've always loved to create art and am constantly looking for ways to be creative; it would be amazing to help make the workshops as exciting as possible :)

Nashat Azad

Hi, my name is Nashat.
I am a first year medicine student and I am running for Lamorna Society treasurer.

In my opinion, a good treasurer is someone that is able to:

- Do a good job at managing the funding of the many supplies and wax needed,

- Document all purchases in a concise and efficient manner, so that the society can work as smoothly as possible,

- Work alongside their peers and communicate well with the society leaders, members and stores but is also independent and can do the job successfully when necessary.

I believe that I have all of these qualities and more as I have previously held an admin job at a school and am familiar with the qualities this role requires. I would like this role as I’d like to build better relationships with members of the society, hopefully boost membership by liaising with other societies and increase the success of every candle making event!
