Investment Society: Events Vice President

Hi! I am Haoyu, running for VP of events at UCLIS.

Having previously organised events such as a Tedx, worked on two successful startups and maintained leadership positions in competitions such as the Wharton Investment Competition (global 24/4900, highest ranking in Europe) and the IEA Budget Challenge (National Finalists), I believe I am well equipped to thrive in this role.

As VP of Events, I strive for:

• Dynamism: Bringing back Market Mondays, which gave an overview of important geopolitical news. I will also establish a discussion panel linking to Market Monday, providing a great opportunity to increase interactions between UCLIS staff and its members.
• Cooperation: Further strengthening the events we organise by forming strategic alliances with societies from other universities. For instance, partnering with other societies for the Finance Conference will help us increase participation and establish it as the de facto no.1 finance event in the EMEA. Resulting economies of scale will also bring our costs down, helping us increase accessibility.
• Diversification: Broadening our offerings to include pub socials, networking opportunities, internship introductions, office tours etc. This will increase our membership base and further strengthen the society's position as a vital career springboard for young students.
