Janice Sim

Hi everyone! My name is Janice and I’m a 3rd year MSci Biological Science: Cell Biology student who joined the immunology society starting last year, in hopes of expanding my knowledge in this area of research. I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to be the interim Welfare Officer last year. I worked closely alongside other committee members to organise social and academic events monthly for our society. Hence, I am familiar with how the society works and would be able to work more cohesively as a team with the other committees and improve the dynamics of the Immunology Society.

Asides from my time in the Immunology society, I am also an integration ambassador for Biological Sciences and was a mentor for the Malaysian Society. Prior to university, I was the treasurer for the Student Ambassador Society as well as the Librarian Society in my school. As a result, I have gained plenty of experience and honed my communication skills, organisational skills, and leadership skills as well as working in a team, all of which are extremely crucial for this treasurer role.

As the treasurer, I will manage and budget our finances well to organise more interesting and affordable events, be it academic or social events where everyone would be able to participate and have an amazing time. Ultimately, with the other committee members, I hope to present a welcoming and conducive environment for UCL students interested in immunology. I hope you consider me as your treasurer :)
