Shreshta Sanyal

I'm thrilled of the prospect of being Sales and Marketing Officer, and excited about the chance to bring some positive vibes to our society through some cool initiatives!

1. Creative Content Crafting: I had a blast over at GirlUp UAE, where I spent three months creating aesthetic and engaging Instagram posts using Canva, Photoshop and PicsArt.

2. The Advertising Game: As a Senior House Leader, I led the charge in advertising interhouse and interschool competitions, strategising with my team to offer incentives that boosted participation across my college.

3. Cultural Connections: Being part of the Hindu Society means more to me than just a role—it's a commitment to sharing the love for our culture. Im excited to cook (some masala packed) innovative campaigns that celebrate who we are and bring in a bunch of awesome people!

4. Let's Chat! Communication is key, and I'm all about keeping the conversation flowing. My time as a Senior House Leader taught me how to chat with everyone, making sure we all know what's going on and how to get involved.

5. Dreaming Big Together: Picture this: a future where the Hindu Society is the go-to place for cultural richness and inclusivity. I want to be a part of making that happen, bringing in new faces and spreading good vibes.

In a nutshell, I'm pumped about the chance to be your Sales and Marketing Officer. I've got the skills, the energy, and the dedication to keep our Hindu Society rocking. Can't wait to make some magic happen together!

Harshiini Sridhar

Hi everyone!

I’m Harshiini, a second-year Computer Science student. I am beyond excited for the opportunity to nominate myself to be a Sales and Marketing Officer for Hindu Society this year.

Throughout first year, I have loved participating in the variety of events that Hindu Society holds, ranging from big events such as Diwali Ball to smaller but equally important ones like Gita Circles. This year, I hope to extend the same inclusivity I felt to many new people looking to join the society. I feel that the best way to do this is through effective sales and marketing, hence my motivation for this role.

Regarding my experience, I have extensively used marketing tools to increase engagement. For example, a part time role in creating graphics for startup company Mongo App allowed me to experiment and utilise Canva tools. Furthermore, I honed my teamwork skills through my summer job as a group manager.

However, I’d like to reach further through new initiatives:

  • Interactive Content: Implementing regular quizzes or challenges that encourage active participation among Hindu Society members. These can be both religious and social, fostering a more vibrant community.
  • Diversification of Content: Reaching more people through short videos and podcasts to showcase information about Hindu culture, upcoming events and more.

In conclusion, I would be a dedicated Sales and Marketing Officer, bringing dynamic content to contribute to Hindu Society’s growth and success.

Thank you!

Lakshmi Kowdley Hemanth

Hi! I’m Lakshmi, a second year Medical student from Kettering, and I am applying for the role of Sales and Marketing Officer!

I believe I am a great fit for this role due to my extensive experience in marketing, as well as my desire to give back to the community. Having grown up in a Hindu household, I have a deep insight into the beauty of the religion, which is essential to promote. I thoroughly enjoyed all the cultural events last year and also took part in Rangeela 2023 as part of the Nritya act. This drew me to apply as I would love to actively contribute to the success of the society’s events. Working within a team whose values resonate with mine would be a fulfilling and formative experience.

As a Bharatanatyam dancer, I have promoted the Indian classical arts on platforms such as Instagram and TikTok to help increase interactions with my dances. This involved using various photo and video softwares such as Canva and CapCut. Furthermore, I have had previous experience with designing promotional materials and managing social media as the Welfare Officer within my school’s Leadership Team and the Lead of Medical Society in Sixth Form. Through these experiences, I acquired a strong foundation in the skills required for this role, making me an asset to the team.

As your Sales and Marketing Officer, I would love to further develop these skills, become part of an amazing team, and be given the opportunity to give back to the community that I truly value being a part of.

Riya Patel

I feel confident in my suitability for this role, thanks to my relevant skill sets and experience. As an active member of my local temple's community, I have taken on the responsibility of overseeing girls of similar ages, ensuring they stay informed about temple activities. Managing a WhatsApp group has become part of my routine, where I consistently share updates and promptly respond to inquiries. Additionally, I've contributed to the promotion of events by creating eye-catching posters, showcasing my proficiency in crafting engaging social media content.
I really appreciate you considering my application and can’t wait to hear back from you as I strongly believe I have the right attitude and mindset to help build and grow Ucl’s Hindu society through social media.

Isha Aggarwal

I would like to run for sales and marketing officer as I really enjoyed attending Hindu society events last year as they brought a sense of familiarity to my life which was otherwise very chaotic as a fresher! I would love to be a part of bringing this experience to life for all the members this year and to help with the innerworkings of this committee. I have particularly enjoy designing advertisements for upcoming events in my local area in the past for fundraising events, therefore I think I can bring a new creative flair to the role not to mention a lot of new ideas. I have developed a wide array of interpersonal skills necessary to promote the society’s upcoming events to new/existing members through experiences like working in a restaurant for a year and being a part of the UCL squash committee.

Krish Chundawat

I am standing for the Sales and Marketing Officer of the UCL Hindu Society because I deeply resonate with the society's goals and vision, and I am passionate about contributing to its growth and outreach. My recent internship in sales and marketing has equipped me with practical skills, from devising effective marketing strategies to fostering relationships with stakeholders. I am eager to bring this experience to the forefront, ensuring the society's events and initiatives are both well-promoted and resonate with our community.

Thanks and vote for me :)

Shivas Patel

Need someone who’s ready to HinDO, not HinDON’T? Look no further!
I’m Shivas, I’m a 2nd-year medic, and here’s a bit about me:

I’m a good Gujju boy – I’ve been to Garba every year since I was a baby, and have a pair of battle-scarred dandiya to prove it. Hinduism’s ancient culture, traditions and values are core to my life, and I’d love to help share them with our community.

A self-styled Canva connoisseur, I can make engaging adverts, posts and stories for all occasions – check out the RUMS RAG Halloween post for an example of my work. I have experience in designing promotional material and… well, promoting it. Yep, I’m fully prepared to be that annoying person in the WhatsApp chat nagging you to buy your Holi tickets.

Livestreaming a dance flashmob? Quizzes on our Insta story about our Gods and festivals? A midnight bhajan sesh in the Student Centre? TikTok challenges? I’m ready to bring innovative and exciting ideas to the tabla… I mean table. And editing photos? No problemo. I’ll fix up those D-Ball pics faster than you can sing the Hanuman Chalisa.

By forging new ties with the likes of Imperial and LSE (ok fine, King’s too), I’m keen to increase our outreach. I’ve managed public social media accounts before (on a global scale!) – I’d be happy to arrange takeovers on each other’s Instagrams, joint fundraisers, and even competitions, all while keeping members updated on our latest events.

Wishing everyone a joyous Diwali and a prosperous new year!
Shivas :)
