Hedge Fund Society: President

Hi! I am Haoyu, running for president of the Hedge Fund Society.

Having previously organised events such as a Tedx, ran two successful start-ups, as well as maintained leadership positions in competitions such as the Wharton Investment Competition (global 24/4900, highest ranking in Europe) and the IEA Budget Challenge (National Finalists), I have the potential to revive the HFS as a vital career catalyst for our members, beyond a simple and dying platform for sharing financial reports.

My agenda strives for:

• Cooperation: The hedge fund society is failing to catch up with its peers. As such, I would like to form partnerships with other societies such as the Guild and the Business Society for joint events hosting. For example, I strive to make the HFS a co-host of the Shark Tank and the Stock Pitch Competitions
• Branding: I will re-establish the brand image of the HFS as a prestigious career bridge between students and employers. I plan to work on its UCL SU Homepage as well as its Instagram Pages to target a more professional and modern audience, which it urgently needs
• Expansion: I aim to introduce events from less explored industries such as Entrepreneurship and Gaming etc. I also plan to increase the variety of events offered, such as Pub Socials and Offices Tours, increasing the membership base of the society
