Hi!
I’m standing for this position as I’m passionate about mental health and well-being! This society is centred around something that I really value. As a creative I think the space is absolutely necessary to give students an opportunity to develop their interest in design. In order for this to be a space where people can really benefit, relationships and student welfare is super important! I think I’d be really good as welfare office is something that I feel I'd be really good at as I'm empathetic and enjoy helping people and bettering their day to day experiences.
Hello! I am Yasmin, a 2nd year Arts & Sciences student, running for Welfare Officer for Free Hype Society.
Free Hype is newly restarting, so I would love to help rebuild the community into a space where aspiring creatives can unite and work together in a meaningful way that makes a larger impact. Outside of academics, I enjoy exploring art, design and film and would love to carry this over to Free Hype.
I believe that a thriving community is built on the foundation of the well-being of its members. My experience offers me the important insight to be a successful Welfare Officer and address diverse needs. Currently as a Science Mentor and through my work as a Campus Ambassador, I am aware of the necessity of creating a safe space for individuals, and implementing initiatives that allow accessibility and inclusivity. I will prioritise the wellbeing of all members, and help establish a supportive network that facilitates a positive environment both within our society, and UCL as a whole. Communication and enthusiasm are undeniably essential parts in the role. Therefore, I would ensure smooth coordination with the committee.
I am thrilled that Free Hype is restarting, and would love the opportunity to help it grow in its new era. With your vote and support, I am confident I will be an effective and engaged welfare officer, in making a lasting positive impact on the wellbeing of our society.
Thank you for considering my application and I look forward to working with you all!
Hi! I am Fion, a second year Law student running for Treasurer of the Free Hype Society. My interests outside of academics include fashion, art and music.
My motivation for running for Treasurer stems from my appreciation for the society's goals - encouraging creative aspirations and providing support to individuals and organisations trying to get a foot in the door of an often exclusive and inaccessible industry. These concepts deeply align with my own values, and, thus, I wish to be a part of a community that benefits those who are often left unheard.
Financial responsibility and stability is something that I believe is integral to the functioning of any society - especially one as dedicated to pro bono work as the Free Hype Society! My background in finance includes hands-on experience providing financial advice for my parents’ family-owned small business and handling relevant expenses. Such experience has led me to develop sound financial literacy that is critical for the role of Treasurer. I envision maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring responsible budgeting, and fostering an environment of trust within the society.
I am excited about the prospect of dedicating myself in furthering the objectives of the society in its fresh start, and I am committed to upholding high standards of financial management and maximising resources for the benefit of us all.
Thank you for considering me for this role; I look forward to meeting everyone!
