Election post
Hi everyone! My name is Lilly and I am excited to run for Vice-President.
Witnessing how Andrew Tate’s influence pervades and detracts from feminist progress or how the repercussions of overturning Roe v. Wade feel differently for female minority groups or how there are ongoing barriers to equal pay therefore calls for greater collaboration between Society heads and with other networks to tackle every facet of feminism.
My role embodies collaborative leadership and creative thinking to spark events and partnerships. Building connections with representatives at the J.P. Morgan Winning Women Program offers an opportunity to invite women from male-dominated industries and put a spotlight on their career journey. This helps to demystify overlooked topics such as asking for a promotion and being heard in the workplace. As a UCL Guild Events & Outreach Executive, I have developed interpersonal and organisational skills to ensure activities run smoothly. I am a Project Delivery Volunteer at Inara Project, a non-profit organisation that supports women from disadvantaged, vulnerable backgrounds. In our Sew Good sessions, service users produce beautiful crafts to raise money for a charity of their choosing whilst receiving mental benefits. This addresses the importance of fun socials such as screening women’s football fixtures in collaboration with recreational and sporting societies to better the mental health of our members to empower the great strides they make in everyday life.
