Era Journal: Welfare Officer

Hi! My name is Sofya, I’m a third year Philosophy student. Why am I running for Welfare officer? As somebody who in the very beginning of my university career found it hard to fit into societies, it was the welfare officer of Philsoc that helped me find my footing. Now, two years later I want to do this for somebody else, and even though I have only recently joined Era, I already feel very welcomed and inspired by the people I’ve met, so to me becoming a welfare officer is a way of giving back to this great community of people.

As your welfare officer I will be patient, try my best to resolve any problem (or try to make you laugh a little if all else fails) and will always provide comfort and a shoulder to lean on for those who need it.
