Drama Society: Marketing & PR Officer

First of all, I have many years of stage experience and am familiar with the front and behind the scenes of the Drama Society. I have acted in musicals and various stage plays at school, such as Cats, The Wizard of Oz, and Twelve Citizens, in which I played important roles.

Secondly, I have many years of experience in news media public relations, and I am familiar with how to maintain and build the image of a group, and familiar with arranging news activities and publicity. I once worked as a reporter for the official media of my university, and spent a whole year in charge of communicating with other organizations and arranging news events within my department.

Thirdly, since I came to the UK for the first time, I have a very high enthusiasm for the English language and the activities of our club. On the one hand, I am very good at communication and communication. I have the ability to give perfect performance in every class presentation. On the other hand, I am very enthusiastic about communicating in English. Although my native language is not English, I may not speak as skillfully as my native English classmates. However, I have been taught in pure English for two years in my country. In an English environment, I attended lectures, completed homework, made presentations and communicated with teachers. And because I want to communicate more in English, I will be very enthusiastic about this business.

For the past few months I have been the interim Marketing and PR officer for DramaSoc and it has been extremely rewarding for me. I was responsible for designing info-graphics for the DramaSoc instagram, as well as responding to enquiries and facilitating external connections. 

Other than being in the committee, I was also Assistant Producer for A Mid Summer Night’s Dream, last year’s Bloom’s show. I therefore have ample experience in administration and paper work. 

Coming forth, if I were to be elected as the head of marketing and PR, I would continue my role in the day-to-day management of our social media presence, as well as strive to maximise public reach of our society, increasing our audience base. 

Having been Freshers' Rep last year and interim Marketing officer, I have had a thorough understanding of the functioning of the committee and society as a whole, which I am confident will be helpful in increasing efficiency and avoiding PR risks.
