I believe that my experience in Neurodivergency and Queerness makes me an ideal candidate in a role that essentially involves gay admin.

With the role of Secretary involving a lot of:

  • note-taking
  • information storing
  • a bit of email-writing

I think my unfounded motivation when it comes to organisation beyond myself, as well as my current experience as a Treasurer allows me to be both an effective Secretary that can handle and distribute information safely as well a good Admin within the Committee helping out with any other paperwork

However, Admin is only half of the job.

Drag is a quintessential part of Queer culture - not to say that it is for everyone, but It's importance is undebatable. My entry to queer culture was through the Ballroom scene, a successor to the early drag pageant scene, and a predecessor to the modern drag scene.

Thus I approach my position as a committee member from a place of knowledge and understanding of our shared collective history and the importance, both then and now, of a space for Queer Folk. This art is ultimately born out of queer discrimination and our struggle against that and societal norms.

Just as Drag has helped my navigate my queerness, as a form of artistic expression - I hope too, to be a part of the change at UCL to help others find that very same thing, and therefore recognise the importance of keeping our society

  • accessible
  • inclusive
  • affordable
  • & safe

I hope you can consider voting for me as Secretary <3
