Hi there! I’m Sim and I’m running to be the secretary for Dementia Research Society!

As a second-year BSc Neuroscience student with an avid interest in neurodegenerative disorders, I believe that I have both the required dedication, as well as the resources and understanding to drive this society forward. Furthermore, my past experiences in which I helped manage an NGO team in Indonesia is testimony to my leadership, communication and meticulous nature.

As your DRS secretary, I aim to grow this society into a prominent force for positive change and scientific growth at UCL, so that future students can have the opportunity to learn and connect with like-minded individuals committed to this increasingly relevant societal issue beyond the classroom.

Having already been the interim secretary, I am familiar with the team and have already begun to work on the projects I believe would benefit, expand, and develop DRS for you. If given the privilege to be the officially elected secretary, I will dedicate my time and efforts towards enhancing the overall experience for DRS members in several directions. This includes ensuring biweekly newsletters with engaging sections, providing you with aesthetic merch, as well as facilitating team meetings so you can attend high-quality events and talks!

Looking forward to the academic year ahead and it would be nothing but an honour to be your society secretary!
