If I do take up the role, I would obviously want to ensure that we enter an indoor league and have regular indoor cricket for people to look forward to – this will require us to be more on top of our admin which I think was part of the reason we weren’t in an indoor league in the first place and it’s where my organisational skills will show their value. Not only is this a great opportunity for esteemed CC members to build cohesion but it also gives everyone a chance to get to know their future teammates better before the summer. It’s also just a bit of fun as well and we want the fun aspect of indoor cricket to shine through, so depending on the feedback I would try to get I would then look to organise friendlies and matches accordingly. I would also look to get the indoor dates as early as I can so it can be scheduled into the off-season properly and it would help with getting better availability. I can also understand that some people will question whether I will even be able to run indoor properly considering I missed a lot of RPL for hockey – this is something I will happily work around, from what I’ve seen most of the indoor games/tournaments are on the weekend anyways so there shouldn’t be many clashes. With regards to captaincy, I have captained teams before, I’d make sure that everyone gets involved and everyone knows their role in the team but most importantly I’d make sure everyone enjoys themselves.
