Hi, I’m Sophie. I’m a second year psychology student but more importantly, an avid bubble tea enjoyer, so much that it’s become my first solution to any problem.

Having been a former bubble tea barista (rip Biju), you can be reassured that bubble tea is something I have both the knowledge and passion for.

I have loved being a part of this society and having joined several events last year, it gave me the opportunity to make new friends and have time to breathe outside of stressful university deadlines.

As president I would like to ensure that we continue to host events that our members enjoy and create an environment where members are able to voice ideas or concerns they may have. I am confident in my ability to be able to lead a team and create plans to put these ideas into motion.

I hope to be a president that you feel confident in approaching if you have any suggestions or just need a bubble tea recommendation :)

Hey guys, I'm Franz and I'm a second-year philosophy student. I'm running for president of the Bubble Tea Society because as a bubble tea lover myself (taro for the win), it would be delightful to co-ordinate and share a variety of experiences with everyone at UCL.

One of my core memories of being a fresher was the Bubble Tea and Board Games Society collaboration. I got to spend my evening bonding with friends and friends-to-be over brown sugar milk tea and pretty confusing but still fun card games (something about exploding cats?) - some of these people have become my closest friends and those are the memories I want others to have and carry with them everywhere they go.

Some ideas I have include collaborating with other societies and bringing communities together, liaising with bubble tea shops for possible discounts and fun activities, organising games/movie nights (streaming My Neighbour Totoro while sipping on matcha tea is a vibe), group study dates to keep up with uni, and relaxed meet-ups to just get to know each other - as bubble tea enthusiasts and as people!

I believe I am someone who is reliable and can be depended on. I can shift between taking up independent tasks and communicating with peers in order to achieve a particular outcome, whenever appropriate. I know that as the committee works together to blend all the kinks, we'll be able to successfully mix up a delicacy of our own: a brand-new, reinvented UCL Bubble Tea society.
