My name is Natania, 3rd year UG student & I’m running for your BSAS Welfare Officer! With the knowledge and experience I’ve gained over the past 2 years through my course, & through observing friends & peers, I've understood that welfare is key to the performance of students & staff. I am keen to be elected as your BSAS Welfare Officer as it's an opportunity to contribute positively to welfare support, not just for those who join the society, but for the whole BSA.
It's often the case that many students are unaware of existing support systems and may be shy to ask. To mitigate this, I will help to increase awareness of the welfare services available to us as students so that we know where exactly the helping hand is, and where it’s coming from.

At the beginning of this academic year, I & other members of the committee created a peer support system called ‘Bartlett Buddies’; for connecting students across the BSA. Our first event in Fresher’s week received positive feedback & part of my plans as Welfare Officer will be to continue leading the programme to continue enabling students to establish connections beyond just their own course year groups.

In all of this, I've been working with our (ever reliable & lovely) student advisor, Amalia, to best help tailor the aims of the welfare team to all students & staff. I hope that I'll be able to learn more from her. In in this role I am keen to be a positive impact on the students & staff welfare in the BSA, for now and the future.
