Hi everyone! I’m Ivy, a 2nd-year LLB Law student, and I am running for Outreach Officer! 🧘♀️🪷
I used to practice yoga on my own until joining the Yoga Club. I have loved being part of this community and taking part in everything the Club offers, classes and socials alike. What stands out about the Club is its welcoming and inclusive environment, two attributes I will aim to promote if elected!
I would love to be involved as the Outreach Officer and organize engaging events such as:
- Collaboration with other clubs and societies
- Meditation with the Mindful Society
- Hiking and outdoor yoga with the Hiking Club
- Volunteering opportunities for yogis (within or outside of the SU)
- Charity yoga sessions
- Events throughout the year to reach new yogis
I am open to all ideas and suggestions, and I hope to contribute to this amazing community!
to provide real relationships to the yogis of this society. i want to build trust between this amazing community and other ucl societies, brands, london universities, and students. with experience in marketing, content creation, but also in practicing yoga and pilates, i want to build awareness and host events that everyone can be a part of!!
Yoga has become such a huge part of my life — it keeps me healthy, grounded, and happy in mind, body, and soul. The UCL Yoga & Meditation Society has honestly been one of my favourite parts of uni, and I always look forward to that hour in the day where I can unwind, switch off, and just breathe. Being part of the society last year (and again this year!) has shown me how special our community is, and I’d love the chance to give something back by becoming Outreach Officer.
I’m a really enthusiastic and approachable person, and I love connecting with people. As Outreach Officer, I’d work hard to build links with other societies to organise fun, creative, and well-planned collaborations — whether that’s joint workshops, wellness events, or themed sessions that bring students together in new ways. I want to help more people discover yoga and experience the same sense of calm and community that makes our society so special.
For me, this role isn’t just about communication — it’s about connection. I’d love to make sure everyone, from complete beginners to long-time yogis, feels welcome, supported, and part of something bigger. I’m full of ideas, always happy to chat, and genuinely passionate about spreading positive energy wherever I can. I really believe in the power of what we do, and I’d be so excited to help UCL Yoga & Meditation keep growing and glowing!
Thanks so much, I look forward to being part of the team,
Maisie Mouncher
Hey everyone! I’m Deniz and I’m from Istanbul, Turkey. I started doing yoga around a year ago and I am very passionate about it! I love meeting new people and socialising so as outreach officer I would always be working on organising fun new experinces we could have together both as a club and with other societies. I have also done a lot of volunteering in the past so I believe that I would be able to use my previous experince in organising charity and fundraising events for our society where we would be able to help others and give back! I think that the yoga and meditation club is already such an amazing organization and group of people and I would be honored to be a part of its committee and contribute to it. Feel free to always reach out to me!
Yoga has been a consistent practice for me that energizes me and provides a special sense of community. I want to help more people at UCL join our community and improve our experiences by increasing accessibility by potentially securing larger rooms and/ or even more yoga teachers. This will allow more members to ahve more access and enjoy their practice with greater options. I value intentional communities and love that yoga helps us all find balance and focus. I enjoy building community in more quiet thoughtful ways by connecting people and encouraging participation. If elected, I hope to help the club grow in workable ways and create a space where all enjoy mindfulness, personal growth and connection.
Hello!
Yoga soc is my happy place because in essence everyone shows up wanting it too. I'm standing for outreach officer because yoga soc genuinely turns me from having a horrendous day, to one where I feel accomplished, floaty and so much more happier than before. Days where I've scheduled it in are incredibly important as a type of selfcare. I've been practicing yoga since the pandemic, with my favourite being power vinyasa, and my favourite classes (though my body hates her after) are Lily's.
The people in the society are also lowkey really cool, I've enjoyed many coffee, matcha and açai bowls with so many of you - as I believe that we are all pretty open minded in just wanting to be friendly, grounded, and have a good day. I also appreciate everyone's aesthetics and recommendations.
I'm passionate, hardworking, creative and bubbly, and would really love to push our outreach as far as possible to other students, events and even locations, as ultimately we are all here to find the calm before the storm somewhere undisclosed at 3am.
