Hey everyone! I'm Bill, also known as Minh and I'm running for Event Coordinator. My motive is very clear; to bring viet culture to ucl and support vietnamese students who want to work and thrive in the uk. I aim to organise fun social events from cultural events to forming a sports teams like football while also having informative events such as career panels and skill workshops. I hope to brighten everyone's experience at UCL, especially when the London weather lets us down! Thank you and I look forward to seeing you all soon!
Ever since I moved to the UK 2 years ago, I've always wanted to gain a chance to represent the Viet community - especially in a foreign place like London. Since I was born and raised in Vietnam, I have a burning desire to display our traditions and heritage for the world to see and experience. I've been to a bunch of Vietnamese Society activities since the start of the year and I really enjoyed the atmosphere there, so with UCL VietSoc as the stage, I would be really honored if I could take up this role as Event Coordinator - so that I could play a part in making a good impression for Vietnamese culture on both Viet people and our friends from other countries.
Back in high school/college, I was a member on the student council committee for multiple years. This provided me with a ton of experience in organising events ranging from festivals (Lunar New Year, Christmas, Easter, etc.) and also helped me familiarise with and get better at working in a team environment to produce well put together events, even under time pressure or budget constraints. Therefore, I can at least ensure that I will not disappoint our VietSoc Committee, or any of our members that our event will be the best it could ever be, and will leave you wanting to come back for more.
Thank you for reading up til this point, and I hope you have a great day :) chào cả nhà~
After attending several bonding events, I found that the people here are very kind and friendly, which motivates me to get more involved. As an active person who has participated in many clubs throughout high school, I want to continue contributing to the Vietnamese community at UCL using my skills in media and event organization. I hope to build meaningful connections and bring positivity to this community, and I’m confident that my experience and enthusiasm will allow me to make valuable contributions to the organization.
I can be described in three words: Dedication, Reliable and Innovative.
"Dedication" means I am a man of service. I serve with my utmost sincerity and always deliver my service to my fullest. A task is to me regarded as a mission, and missions need to be completed no matter the challenge, no matter the time.
"Reliable" means that I deliver my service as immaculate as possible in my ability. Though it is not guaranteed that the method is conventional or expected, I always do things for the best interest, and deliver the most fitting results possible. If it is in my ability and expertise, you can expect the best result possible.
And finally, "Innovative". "Innovative" does not mean inventing new things and technology, but it does mean that I actively find new solutions to problems. These may be unconventional, uncalled for or even strange to some people, but the most important thing to me is that they get the job done, and possibly more efficiently than traditional methods.
With these qualities, I believe that I can provide my finest service as an event coordinator, whether it is stirring the atmosphere of an event, or just doing the administrative work of hosting it.
