Fadeke Tejuoso

Ever since I was a little girl, I have loved horses and polo; celebrating my 5th birthday at the Lagos Polo Club is still one of my fondest memories. My love for the sport was passed on to my brother and me, by my late father and uncles. If I'm not at work or school, then I am most likely at the stables grooming horses, watching my family or other teams play, or in my bed laughing at and reposting horse memes. My love for the sport runs so deep, that my friends jokingly call me the horse whisperer. Before I received my offer letter from UCL, I had reached out to the UCL Polo Team's Instagram expressing my eagerness to join. To my delight, I received my offer letter and immediately joined the Whatsapp community, excited to meet others who love the sport just as I do.

It would be an absolute honour for me to contribute towards improving the UCL Polo Team and making sure my teammates feel supported, an honour that I would not take likely. As the Captain, I would place great emphasis on team spirit and bonding, skill building, communicating with all the members, and implementing their suggestions. I am always eager to learn from and alongside others, supporting individuals on their personal journeys as athletes. My goal is to make 2025-2026 the most memorable year so far for the team, and do so by not leaving anyone behind, keeping a competitive spirit whilst making both on and off the field a fun time for everyone.
