Dorsa Nasimi

Hi everyone :) I’m Dorsa, a second-year Earth Sciences student who genuinely cares about making everyone in the society feel welcome, supported, and heard. As a Youth Advisory Board at the Let Me Know charity, I learned how to recognise well-being needs and support others in feeling connected.

I believe in the power of community, mindfulness, and inclusivity, and I want to help create a safe space where everyone feels valued. My goal is to ensure that every member can enjoy, participate, and thrive within our society, knowing their well-being truly matters.

Thank you for considering me for this role 🌱💗

Charissa Lim

Hello! I am Charissa, a second year Human Sciences student who strongly believes in wellbeing, inclusion, and protecting the environment. I am applying for Welfare Officer because I believe that care for people and nature are deeply connected, and that our society should be a space where every member feels supported, valued, and able to fully participate.

Through my experience volunteering with a mental health non-profit, I learned the importance of active listening, offering support, and creating safe, non-judgemental spaces. Furthermore, as someone from a marginalised ethnic minority, I understand how meaningful it is to feel seen, and recognise the importance of keeping inclusivity at the centre of every event. Hence, as Welfare Officer, I will work to ensure that our activities and events are welcoming and considerate of everyone’s wellbeing, and advocate for those from minority groups, ensuring that every voice is heard and respected.

I am passionate about the values of Nature and Conservation Society, and I hope to continue to cultivate an atmosphere of respect, empathy, and kindness. By doing so, we can strengthen both our community and our connection with the environment, inspiring others to join us in our mission to protect biodiversity, reduce plastic use, and promote sustainability across UCL.

Malissa Buajeeb

Hey everyone! I’m Malissa and it’s been so much fun being your interim Welfare Officer these past couple of months. I’d love the chance to officially take on the role and keep making our society a welcoming, supportive space for everyone.

I want to make sure everyone feels included and supported — whether you’re deep in the mud on a volunteering day, chatting on a walk, or hiding from deadlines together. If elected, I’d like to organise more chill wellbeing activities like nature walks, cosy socials, and chances to just relax and connect with each other.

Basically, I want to be the person you can come to for a chat, a laugh, or a reminder that you’re doing great.

Thanks for reading and hope I can count on your vote :)

Tristan Edwards

I am standing because want to make this society as fun and welcoming as it can be, and I believe that I can do that. I will be active in asking members about their welfare within the society, helping to keep an enjoyable atmosphere! I also want to promote more society events, bringing everyone closer together.
