Hi, I'm Elyas, a third year chemistry student! UCL’s wonderful concert band has been part of my life for 3 years now and it has always made me feel part of a family! I have really enjoyed making friends and getting to know people over those years in the band. Therefore, I want to give back by promoting a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for all. As someone who regularly performs drums and percussion for music concerts and musical theatre shows, I have demonstrated my thorough organisation and social skills and I will use these skills to ensure that rehearsals, concerts and socials run smoothly!
If you vote for me, I will work towards having a social during both reading weeks and at the end of terms, as an opportunity to make new friends outside of our usual rehearsal! I would also encourage as many people as possible to come to the IOE bar after rehearsals for some socialisation and chat, non-drinkers and drinkers alike, as it's a fantastic opportunity to talk to people you wouldn't normally talk to during rehearsal!
In addition, I'd also love to push for some smaller scale rehearsals/socials during term 3, so that you can drop by and relieve the stress and pressures of exams by having fun and playing some wonderful music!
