Hii everyone, I’m Ishlene. Throughout my bachelors, I served as a student rep and later as President of my course-led Society, which gave me experience listening to students, relaying feedback to staff and helping resolve academic concerns. I’m organised, approachable and confident communicating with different groups, and I enjoy creating an environment where students feel comfortable sharing their thoughts and experiences.
If elected, I want to make sure student voices across the Faculty are heard consistently and clearly. I hope to gather feedback regularly and bring concerns to faculty committees in a way that leads to real, practical changes. My goal is to strengthen the postgraduate experience by improving communication, support and overall sense of community.
Students should vote for me because I have experience representing others, a track record of following things through and a genuine commitment to improving student experience. As someone who struggled with mental health in the past and didn’t always have a strong support system, I understand how important it is to feel listened to and included. I’m determined to create an environment for others. I’ll be reliable and proactive. I believe I should be selected because I bring both experience and empathy, and am genuinely motivated to make this good year for us :)
