Natalia Serdyukova

Dear Green Economy Society Members,

I am nominating myself for President because I believe  I will be able to build on the momentum our society experienced last year even further. My vision for Green Economy Society goes beyond theoretical discussions, as Co-Head of Events I've already shown you what my work  can bring through the notable success of our latest Mandatory Sustainability Reporting event.  Not only did we manage to get more sign-ups than any other event in the society's history, but we also brought in four Partners from some of the biggest international law firms worldwide.

If given this opportunity,  I will ensure that our society continues upwards on this trajectory of excellence we've set ourselves on by committing to the following:

  1. Future events will be centred around increasing members' employability. Your attendance will directly translate into increasing your employability in today's world, where the effects of the Green Transition will inevitably be felt in all industries.
  2. Members will be able to expand their network across more universities and companies. We will expand our presence in the green transition conversation both in student and corporate spaces.
  3. Members will have access to leadership and skill-building opportunities through workshops and mentorship programs  that will prepare you for a career in sustainability.

If elected, I will exhaust all available resources to ensure that I am giving you the very best that Green Economy can

Aadi Rana

I’m going to make the society even better than it already is- ensuring diverse voices on sustainability are heard, a host of various events are conducted (which have already been underway this year and have been really good) and also to coordinate with the SU on scaling our operations.

Having worked with professors on sustainability research, specifically climate finance and climate justice- both which are newer topics into the sphere of the green economy. It’s given me a host of experience and implemented a deep desire to keep fighting for a greener economy and more equitably distributed resources.

I would work my hardest to ensure the society is able to grow, expand further and that it benefits all members!

Joseph Wood

The green transition is the future of our global economy. Every economic sector will undergo transformation and GES has been influential in shaping the careers of our members for success beyond university.

As President, I will strengthen the Green Economy Society as a hub for discussion, research, and engagement with sustainability, (green) finance, and infrastructure. With experience as Head of Research for the Society, Head of Events for UCL’s Geographical and Diplomacy Societies, and Editor-in-Chief of RIPPLE Publication, I have led teams, organised high-impact events, and built collaborations and lasting relationships that turn ideas into tangible outcomes.

I aim to:
- Forge strategic partnerships with organisations leading the way in the low carbon transition, opening doors to unparalleled career development opportunities for the Green Economy Society members.
- Expand the society’s presence outside of UCL through cooperation with corresponding societies across various universities.
- Host insightful speakers and networking events that will help to explore and understand the current trends in a rapidly developing sustainability-related environment.
- Collaborate with private sector on sustainability analysis and research to develop necessary skills, confidence and experience.
