Heya all, I’m Sami. Many of you probably know me from events over the past year, whether it was casting the Valorant games at RBGS and Sidequest, or (perhaps more memorably) being the guy in a maid outfit at one of last year’s Meltdowns...
Since September, I’ve been serving as your Valorant Admin, and for the past two weeks, I’ve also had the privilege of being your Interim President. Through these roles, I’ve gained a strong understanding of how our society works behind the scenes. Seeing first hand how much effort goes into making our events and collaborations run smoothly has inspired me to push for even more ambitious and well organised projects in the future.
My goal has always been to create enjoyable and engaging gaming experiences for all our members: from fun social events to exciting competitions with great prizes. One of the projects I’m most proud of is the “UCLG Winter Challengers”, an idea I’ve envisioned since March, and I can’t wait to bring even more opportunities like this to everyone.
I’m passionate about the future of this society and eager to continue building on the progress we’ve made. So, if you’ve enjoyed what we’ve achieved so far and want to see that momentum grow, I’d be honoured to have your support for President :)
Hey guys, Jane here✌️
You are probably wondering, why am I applying for this position again, despite the results of the interim votings?
Well, maybe it is because I strongly believe I can do a great job as your president.
Why?
- I have experience from 4 different society committees (+1 subcommittee :D), including the gaming soc itself. I know what it is like to manage groups with over 600 members.
- I am part of the Students' Union Activities team (that’s where all the societies go to solve their issues), which makes me well-equipped for any future troubles.
- I just love casual gaming myself and have a big passion for esports, so I will cater to all preferences in our community.
- Basically, I know how to run the society smoothly, so nothing stands in the way of delivering the best experience to the community.
Also, I know what it is like to be a gamer in university. All of us have different experiences, and some of us might not be able to enjoy our hobby as easily as in school days. That is why my personal goal is to make gaming as accessible as possible, so that no matter what life throws at you, you can keep doing what you love.
thanks guys, and I will see you around
Jane
