Scarlett Walker

Hi, I’m Scarlett, a founding member of the FemTech and Women’s Health Society and the current interim Treasurer. I’m passionate about communicating science to wider audiences to increase public awareness and encourage informed decision-making, particularly when it comes to addressing the long-standing gaps in women’s health research, diagnosis, and treatment.

As a founding member, I’ve been closely involved in shaping the society from its early stages. During my time as interim Treasurer, I’ve gained a strong understanding of the society's financial and organisational processes, from managing budgets and reimbursements to ensuring our events run smoothly. I’ve really enjoyed being involved in organising and supporting successful past events, such as our recent (sold-out!) women's health panel, and I’m currently helping to plan our exciting upcoming projects, which continue to grow in scale and ambition.

I’d love the opportunity to continue in this role to build on the foundation we’ve created and help the society grow sustainably. I’m committed to maintaining a community where everyone feels comfortable, included, and free to be themselves, something I believe is essential to promoting more equitable healthcare. By combining strong financial management with this inclusive vision, I’m confident I can help to expand our impact and build on the unprecedented interest and membership we’ve seen so far, continuing to encourage discussion, learning, and change within women’s health.
