Hi! I’m Mair, the current Outreach and Alumni Secretary for the FemTech and Women’s Health Society, and I’m running to continue in this role! This society means so much to me, and I’m proud of what we’ve built together, but there’s still so much more we want to do, and I would love to keep the momentum going.
My interest in women’s health began at 15, when I was prescribed the pill to manage hormonal symptoms without much explanation. That sparked a curiosity that’s grown into a full-blown passion for menstrual cycles, hormones, fertility, and the research gaps in women’s health.
Now, as a 3rd Year Applied Medical Sciences student hoping to become an embryologist, I’ve explored these topics through science and advocacy. This society has connected my academic interests with real-world conversations and community.
As Outreach and Alumni Secretary and alongside the rest of the amazing committee, we have worked hard to build bridges between students, alumni, and professionals, coordinated events, and worked to keep our society visible and welcoming. I am approachable, and due to being Treasurer for UCL netball last year, I would say I am a pretty organised person too! I would make it my priority to continue giving as much as I can to this society :).
Women’s health is still so overlooked and underfunded, and I really do believe this society can be part of the change. I’d love your support to continue pushing for a bold, inclusive, impactful space at UCL.
Thanks for reading!
Mair :)
