I’m a pharmacy student with a huge interest in the skincare/cosmetics aspect of pharmacy, not just the life-or-death medications. Upon graduation, I wish to either open my own business or join a pharmaceutical company focused on skincare. Not only do I help others with using skincare but I also use it myself. I research and learn about different skin types, skin concerns, products and their ingredients too. I already support others with making dermatological-related decisions for example by helping my mum, brother, cousins, family friends in picking the right products and ingredients and I’m able to do so because I spend a lot of my free time on educating myself on this matter. Through becoming the networking officer, I will be able to organise events which will not only educate me more but also other people with similar interests. Just as I want to hear from experts and not random people online, I’m sure other people in the society would also like that too, and I want to be able to fulfil that need for them.
Hello! I am Violet, a 4th year medical student with strong interest in Dermatology. I have been acting as the Dermatology Society's Interim Networking Officer since the start of term. I was able to source a leading Harley Street Consultant Dermatologist to speak to our first Zoom session, an achievement which received excellent feedback from our students and committee members, and have another lined up for an upcoming session.
I am an outgoing, confident and well-organised person, and have proven that I can network and perform my role effectively and persuasively. My commitment and enthusiasm extends beyond speaker outreach. I have created slides and helped deliver sessions for the Teaching Series, and I supported the society during the fresher’s fair by helping to run the stall.
Please vote for me to continue as Networking Officer, as I am confident that I will continue to contribute positively by increasing the profile of the Dermatology Society, the quality of our portfolios, and by attracting qualified and experienced consultants to provide Q&A sessions, key-note speeches and other forms of support.
