Hi, I’m Artemis, an Applied Medical Sciences student, and I’m running for Secretary of the Dementia Research Society. Having seen the impact of dementia up close, I’ve developed a genuine interest in understanding the condition more deeply and engaging with both the scientific and social challenges surrounding it. I would love to be part of this team and help support a society that raises awareness, highlights ongoing research, and gives students opportunities to learn through talks, journal clubs, and academic events.
I’m organised, reliable, and consistent with communication—qualities central to the Secretary role. I enjoy being part of a team and working together towards shared goals. Through previous leadership roles, such as Head Girl at school, I’ve gained experience taking on responsibility and managing the kinds of tasks that keep things running smoothly behind the scenes. I want to contribute to the committee and help ensure meetings, scheduling, and information are clear and well-coordinated.
My aim is to help the society offer as many opportunities as possible for its members, while maintaining a welcoming, well-organised environment where everyone can stay informed and involved.
