Lewis Ross

My name is Lewis and I’m a first year PhD student, though I have been at UCL for the past 4 years doing an MSci in Physics. Despite cycling my entire life (mostly alone), this is my first year joining a society. In the past, I always thought I enjoyed cycling alone but since joining the society I have discovered cycling is so much better when you do it with others (mostly so you can draft them, I’m joking). As someone who doesn’t drink, I’d like to organise more off the bike activities which don’t revolve around alcohol as well as consistent out of London weekend rides with great views of Kent. Some off the bike activities could include cycling related quiz nights and some bike maintenance sessions since bike repairs are so expensive.

Daniel Totten

I think we can all agree, cycling is sometimes a lonely and exclusive sport where the bum can go numb...so let's bring back the fun!

My name is Daniel and I'm a second year Chemistry student, so clearly no stranger to a boring time (nothing more treacherous than a 6 hour lab!). Cycling and all things bike have been my escape for as long as I can remember and the community I have found has been invaluable. I think it's time for me to give back to the people who have given me so much support as well as an outlet to connect with like-minded cyclists. No matter what you are into - a pint, a coffee or neither - I promise to organise a variety of socials that appeal to everyone no matter their age, ability or interest.

Additionally, I aim to collaborate with other societies, within UCL and beyond, expanding our cycling network and creating a safe space for everyone. Whether on wheels, the dance floor, or sipping on a flat white I aim to guide you to the best spots to chat, share anecdotes and general bike wisdom. Let's have a good time on (and off!) the bike  :)
