I want to sit with the union and tell them “let’s make history.” That’s what it’ll be!
I will give it my best to campaign for our policies with the SU. The fossil free careers policy has shown tremendous promise and the SU needs to pressure UCL to accept it faster!!! I won’t stop at any point to ensure this is done.
Secondly, the Fossil Free Treaty that we are backing (more recently) needs to be accepted by the SU so they can pressure UCL to endorse it.
Lastly, I will organise our campaigns and protests with close detail and plan them to ensure maximum support!
Vote Aadi and I will make it WORTH IT :)
I am standing for Campaign Manager because I care deeply about confronting the structural drivers of the climate crisis and believe I can help the society strengthen its strategic impact. Over the years, I have engaged extensively with literature on fossil capital and its connections to imperialism, and this has shaped my understanding of how climate change is produced and sustained. I believe that as a group we can translate this understanding into well-designed campaigns, and to build stronger coalitions with other societies and initiatives that connect local organising with the broader global struggle for climate justice. I am particularly inspired by the impact of the End Fossil Free Careers campaign, and I believe it can be further contextualized within wider movements for justice, including advocacy for Palestine and the ongoing project of environmental colonialism that upholds a violent system of extraction and dispossession. By formalising and building stronger links in between our societies and campaigns, our collective pressure can be used more effectively to fight for climate justice.
