Rustam Mukhamedjanov

What drew me to this role isn’t just the title, but the chance to make purpose profitable. Social enterprise, to me, is where creativity meets responsibility and innovation meets empathy. It’s the kind of business that changes both markets and minds, and that’s the kind of work I want to help this Society lead.

As a Social Science and Data Science student, I’m deeply interested in understanding how people think and how data can drive meaningful change. I want to bring that analytical and human lens to the Business Society, to ensure our social enterprise initiatives don’t just sound good, but work in the real world.

My leadership journey has been diverse and people-driven: serving as Head Boy, Head of Media for Model UN conferences, Founder and Editor-in-Chief of my school magazine. Each role strengthened my ability to communicate and inspire collective vision. Most recently, I was awarded first place in the DECA Championship in the Entrepreneurship category, which deepened my understanding of innovation, business ethics, and pitching ideas that matter.

If elected, I will focus on connecting our Society with real-world enterprises, promoting collaboration between students and organizations to turn our ideas into tangible change. My vision is to make the Business Society a hub of social innovation, where every first-year member feels that they are able to build a movement.

Kush Mittal

I’m standing for the position of First Year Representative, Social Enterprise because I want to help the Business Society use its platform to make a positive social impact through entrepreneurship. I believe business can drive meaningful change. I’m motivated to help create initiatives that combine innovation with purpose, where profit and progress go together. As First Year Representative, I’ll support the planning and execution of projects that tackle social and environmental issues through business-driven solutions. This includes organizing workshops, collaborations, and campaigns that encourage students to think about how business principles can create sustainable change. I’ll approach each task with reliability, creativity, and a focus on meaningful outcomes. I also want to ensure that first-year students feel involved and empowered to share their ideas. By gathering input from my peers and working closely with the Social Enterprise team, I’ll help shape projects that are practical, impactful, and inclusive. This might involve supporting local communities, raising awareness, or developing innovative solutions for real-world challenges. Ultimately, I’m running because I believe social enterprise represents the future of responsible business. With commitment, teamwork, and a drive to make a difference, I want to help the Business Society lead initiatives that not only develop business skills but also encourage students to act purposefully, and create lasting impact.

Felipe Alperowitch

I'm running for the role of First-Year Representative for the Social Enterprise branch because I want to contribute a new, international perspective shaped by my background in Brazil. Coming from a country full of creativity and contrast, I've seen how innovation frequently sparks innovation and often grows from constraint—how people use business not just to make a living, but to make a difference.

One project I remember clearly was a start-up in Rio that taught young people to recycle ocean plastic into surfboards. It wasn't an enormous company, but it showed me how entrepreneurship can be enjoyable, useful, and meaningful all at once. It taught me that positive change does not always require a great plan; it may begin with a simple idea and a group of people who care.

As First-Year Representative, I’d like to help bring that spirit into the Business Society—creating a space where students can explore how creativity and business skills can generate both opportunity and impact. I hope to encourage more first-years to get involved, share ideas, and see business not just as a career path, but as a platform to build things that truly matter.

Rehaan Arora

I believe that business should always have a positive motive behind it.  Giving back to people, the community, and the environment. During school, I founded a charity organisation that held sports events to raise money for a local research institute. We raised over £1,200, and it made a real difference. That experience shaped my vision to use every opportunity to make a difference wherever I go.

Abdullah Malik

In today's era, profit is no longer the sole objective for firms, but instead, an emphasis on social responsibility and people is now the new market norm. Businesses, when anchored in meaningful purpose, can become the most transformative tool for human progress; and so for me, social enterprise is more than just a division - it is a way we can create genuine value for all.

I am no stranger to social enterprise work; notably, at Akhuwat, a global welfare NGO, I worked on various community development and fundraising projects for businesses run by the less privileged and flood-relief campaigns.  Moreover, I am a man of the people. My experiences as Head Boy and Student President have honed my ability to lead with purpose and empathy by mobilising resources, people, and ideas to construct socially impactful initiatives where everyone can enjoy and benefit from. If chosen, you'll see - I don't just lead, I empower!

I intend to bring this spirit to the Business Society's Social Enterprise by matching students with inspirational startups, organising problem-solving competitions that combine entrepreneurship and empathy, and transforming good intentions into quantifiable results. Collective triumph is my mission, and I will ensure every first-year finds a cause worth standing for. I think losing yourself in the service of others is the best way to discover yourself. So I stand here to help our generation redefine success in terms of how we help others, not just the money we make.

Marvin Chiu

My name is Marvin Chiu, and I am running to be your First Year Representative for Social Enterprise. The most successful approaches to business in my opinion are those that seek to balance profitability with positive impact. A keen area of interest that exists between making a difference with social causes and the corporate world is one that has driven me to want to create an event that seeks to empower you to make your difference.

My work with the HK Federation of Youth Groups was driven by long-term motivation, where I was directly accountable for assisting the elderly and children. This commitment to social impact is at the core of what Social Enterprise stands for.

As Student Council Director of Welfare, I was never afraid to make the first step, proactively reaching out to and negotiating with major companies like Casetify to secure partnerships. This proves my ability to build the strategic collaborations needed for events like the Impact Investment Championship.

Captaining the U18 Baseball Squad in high-stakes international tournaments has trained me to think on my feet during incredibly stressful situations, making critical decisions under pressure to guide my team—a vital skill for managing dynamic events and panel discussions.

Vote for a representative who understands that business and social impact must go hand-in-hand. Vote for Marvin Chiu for First Year Rep - Social Enterprise. Let's build a legacy of purpose, together.
