I am standing for first year operations rep at the UCL business society because I strongly believe I am a good fit for this position! Having already been an active member of UCL business society, whilst I am impressed by the quality and organisation of the events aswell as the clear communication, I’m also optimistic about how I can apply my skills and experience planning and organising society operations to further improve the efficiency of the business society.
Some experiences which make me well equipped for this role include, having lead a number of societies. This includes academic societies (e.g. investment society & finance society), sports teams(e.g. football and 2nd basketball team captains), and service groups (e.g. junior science & Bombay street kids). These experiences honed in my leadership, collaboration and organisation skills, improving my ability to organise and manage operations.
I’ve also been a part of public speaking societies and have worked in a costumer facing role for 6 months now. These experiences have improved my confidence and communication, making me better at not only talking to larger groups but also at having smaller group conversations and even smoothing over 1 to 1 arguments. Finally, I also think that having spent time doing summer program internships at PwC and XpertiseNow, I have grasped a greater understanding of how to communicate and collaborate in a professional manner, making me more equipped to manage operations professionally.
I’m the type of person who actually enjoys making sure things work, the behind-the-scenes stuff that keeps everything running while everyone else is stressing. As a first-year, I bring fresh energy, perspective, and a slightly worrying enthusiasm for spreadsheets, planning, and efficiency (yes, I’m that person who is overly organised).
I want to make sure every event runs smoother than a London tube line at 9 a.m., from booking rooms and managing logistics to making sure no mic dies mid-panel. But more than that, I want to be the link between the new members and the core committee, making sure first-years feel seen, heard, and part of something bigger. I’ll bring reliability, humour, and just the right amount of obsession with getting things perfectly right.
Hi! I am Andrea, and I am running for the First Year Representative (Operations) for the Business Society. From the first few months here at UCL, I found a great sense of connection by participating in several events organized by the Business Society, which is the core motivation that drives me to join this committee. Despite this, I have a strong interest in business, and most importantly, I want to be part of and contribute to the smooth running of the Business Society.
During my Operational Intern in an international trade company, I operated the company’s order management system, monitored daily stock levels and market price fluctuations, and calculated customer balances to assess trading risks. Through this experience, I developed a keen eye for detail, strong organisational skills, and an appreciation for efficient processes, which are qualities that I believe to be essential for the Operations role. Indeed, I prioritise organisational efficiency and enjoy working collaboratively to ensure tasks are completed effectively and on time.
I’m excited about the opportunity to contribute my enthusiasm, reliability, and operational experience in the Business Society from the very start of my university journey!
In every strong organization, good ideas matter, but strong operations make them happen! I’m Rustam, and I’m running for First Year Representative – Operations because I want to make sure the Business Society runs smoothly and strategically.
As a former Head Boy, I learned how to lead teams, coordinate large-scale projects, and make decisions that balance efficiency and empathy. Through managing events and solving problems under pressure, I developed a clear understanding of what it takes to turn plans into meaningful outcomes!
I’ve also led Model UN conferences and a plenty of media projects, which gave me practical experience in organization, delegation, and most importantly delivering results. As Operations Rep, I’ll apply those skills to create systems that keep our activities efficient, transparent, and inclusive. I’ll make sure first-year voices are heard and our projects stay on track. I believe that good leadership is about listening and executing with precision.
My goal is simple: make our Society operate like a professional team: organized, forward-thinking, and always ready for growth.
Vote for me if you want a representative who listens, delivers, and drives results with precision and integrity.
Together, we can build a Business Society that truly thrives!
I’m running for First Year Representative in Operations because I want to help ensure the smooth running of the Business Society. I’m interested in the operational aspects, where planning, coordination, and precision work together to make initiatives successful. I like being the person who makes sure everything behind the scenes operates seamlessly, from organizing logistics to maintaining clear communication among teams.
I also want to connect first-year students with the wider committee, bringing suggestions and feedback to enhance the society's operations. By staying proactive, organized, and detail-oriented, I’ll help build a structure that turns the society’s ideas into successful outcomes.
Ultimately, I’m running because I believe that strong operations are essential for every successful organization. With commitment, teamwork, and clear planning, I aim to help the Business Society function smoothly and create an environment where creativity and efficiency work together.
