Ioan Thomas

I am currently a second year CS student, and the autism society has helped me with social interaction, understanding more about my autism, and let me know the struggles I encounter at university lots of others do.  As vice-president of the society, I would look to help new students integrate better with UCL and help inform them about the available support on their courses.

I will also look at establishing more online resources for students who struggle to engage in person. I am currently working on an engineering project with the national autism society, and would like to use the contacts I make from that to engage this society with them more. There are many members of UCL's faculty who are autistic, and I would also look at reaching out to them for talks with us on their experiences in academia and the business world as autistics.

I am currently the Welfare Officer for the society and the neurodivergent students rep in the DSN, and hope to contribute more to the other autistic and neurodivergent students at UCL.

Raphaela Wagland

I am standing for vice president of the autism society because I would like help the president more and step in when needed in the society, so the president can focus on their mental health. Also, it will help me to build my cv as a leader so when I do end up teaching in school I would know I have strong leadership in managing situations and responding to the necessary protocols.
