Erna Doda

I'm standing for General Secretary because I genuinely care about strengthening our Albanian Community at UCL. As an extroverted person who enjoys meeting new people, I want to help create a society where every member feels connected, proud and involved.

Having grown up as an ethnic Albanian from Kosovo, I've always carried a deep sense of pride in our culture and identity. I believe the Albanian Society has an incredible opportunity to bring people together via our shared ethnicity. My main objective would be to strengthen social cohesion among us and, in turn, build a more active and engaged society.

This year, I've already contributed to the society by helping design one of the 'Welcome' posters and by collaborating with members of other Albanian societies across London to plan joint events. Additionally, as the elected Event Representative for the first-year Politics & International Relations cohort - where I received the most votes - I've gained practical experience with UCL's event organisation processes, paperwork, and student engagement.

As General Secretary, I'd aim to make our society more dynamic, with frequent social gatherings, collaboration, and events that celebrate who we are. Most importantly to me, I want every member to feel included and valued within the society.

Nancy Hoxha

I am standing for the role of General Secretary because of my cultural insight and networking experience that can significantly benefit our Society. My ten years living in Albania have given me an authentic understanding of our culture that I am dedicated to sharing and preserving within our community. I have also gained invaluable exposure to high-level networking and relationship-building through my parents' work in expanding Albanian-British relations. I am confident I can leverage this background to forge new partnerships, create exciting opportunities, and enhance the Society's profile, ensuring it becomes a central hub for all Albanians at UCL.
