Election post
Hi everyone, I’m Audrey and I’m running for Managing Editor of US law & politics society :)
I was a summer intern at Vogue HK last year, where I developed professional editing skills and published articles within tight deadlines to a high standard. I was also News Editor at Pi Media, so I am familiar with managing and editing large volumes of work alongside my studies. I have written articles on a range of topics such as AI development, immigration and global policy, and I’ve always been especially interested in the US—I’m actually currently writing my dissertation about the American presidency!
I am a strong believer in writing as a powerful medium for staying informed, asserting your beliefs and making a change in the world. During COVID, I founded my own publication, uniting students from various backgrounds to engage in meaningful dialogue through writing. During this process, I reached out to various NGOs for collaboration and worked closely with multiple schools around the world, donating all proceeds from the copies sold.
As Managing Editor, I’ll make sure to maintain the highest quality of work and ensure that a breadth of opinions are projected. I will work with the committee to further promote the society and organise regular socials with contributors, where we can discuss current affairs and brainstorm ideas in a more personal and relaxed setting.
