I founded Skate Club, but I'm not an admin on the WhatsApp group, please let me have this!
My goals for the year are:
- Ice skating social
- Skate club (digital) sticker pack
- Picnic social (I'll bake something)
- Skate movie night
- Taking suggestions for more!
According to the NHS, university can be a stressful experience . I hope to make Skate Club a welcoming space, even if you've never skated before!
Here are some other reasons to vote for me:
- I own a helmet
- I write risk assessments
- Bakery recommendations (and maybe bakery crawl social?)
- I founded the club
- My skates have light up wheels
Hey everyone, I'm Nasif and I'm running for longboard captain.
I may not be that well known in Skate Club but I make my presence known when I can (juggling 2 societies in my final year is difficult but I'm making it work). I love the atmosphere that skate club has at all of the sessions I've been to and I've enjoyed having other people around whilst I skate, especially last year when I was still learning how to skate.
If you wanted the real reason why I'm running, I thought it would be cool to be a part of 2 committees of the only clubs I am a part of. It's a nice flex to have. But also I have enjoyed teaching some of you already at skate sessions and even though I am not the "official committee member" to go to, I have a lot of fun teaching. It wasn't that long ago when I was learning how to skate but a lot of my skate knowledge came from various YouTube videos and trying stuff on my own with everyone staring at me (it gets really awkward sometimes). So I know it definitely puts people at ease having someone else around to teach you. I am also qualified in First Aid, so if you do (somehow) get injured whilst learning do not worry, I'm qualified to help you (on paper).
I am also one of the (very) few people at Skate Club who skates on some type of longboard/cruiser so it doesnt look like you have much of a choice but to vote me :)
