Scuba Club: Treasurer

Interested in gaining experience in managing finances, and being able to gain real world experience. Determined to stay on top of things and manage costs effectively. Being able to apply skills, and strengthening knowledge about costs. 

I am standing to be treasurer of Scuba Club because I believe I have the skills and character necessary to perform the role with excellence.

Why I qualify:

1.      I have the numerical literacy and understanding of financial statements to be able to excel in this position.

2.      This role perfectly aligns with my career ambitions to work in finance. I am First-Year Representative of Investment Society, and I am taking a finance course at Imperial College London on Saturdays, in addition to my degree, to improve my technical knowledge.

What I plan to do for Scuba Club:

1.      Observe an efficient allocation of funds.

2.      Make trips more accessible by reducing costs through group discounts and spreading costs with other societies at UCL and University Scuba Clubs.

3.      Access additional resource from the UCL students’ union by qualifying for certain fund types such as the friends’ trust.

 I am patient, prudent and responsible and believe my calm character will allow me to make great decisions for the society. Also having other society positions demonstrates I am no stranger to societal responsibility.
