Sanjay Harris

This is my 3rd year in Music Soc and I've loved every moment. The choir tours have genuinely been the highlights of my time singing at UCL, and I'm so excited to plan another unforgettable tour.
If elected I am really keen to open up the tour to more people, and ideally make it a Chamber Choir/Symphony Orchestra joint venture. This would expand the repertoire we could take abroad and make for some extremely special and memorable performances.
Whilst passionate about music, the one thing I might be more passionate about is the BEACH. I vow to you that the tour location this year will be beachside or at the very least with easy/cheap access. The tour should be fun above all and I am committed to finding a location that offers fun, culture, musical opportunities, and unique experiences.
This year on tour we managed to go on a hike, visit a farmers’ market, watch a short film at a local film festival (in french), go night swimming, go clubbing, visit 3 museums, see a photo exhibition, attend a Dua Lipa concert, go on morning runs, and still perform as a choir twice.
It is this exactly this sort of incredible experience I want to put on for another year and make it even bigger and better, selecting repertoire with ensemble managers and liaising with churches/venues ahead of time so that everything runs smoothly. As social sec last year, I honed my organisational skills and know how to effectively balance music and leisure which is exactly what I want to bring to this role.
