Samuel Lee

Hey there, political enthusiasts, future leaders, and aspiring dictators!

I’m Samuel, and am making a bid to be your Events Director for IPAS Society.

Previous Experience: Whether in politics or in a uni society, any good representative needs to bring strong experience! During highschool, I had the privilege of being LGBTQ+ Society’s leader. We successfully organised a month-long pride event, including a concert, stalls and activities - where we raised $1,060, for LGBTQ organisations. If elected, I seek to continue setting up fun, engaging and meaningful IPAS Soc. Events.

Building Strong Connections: Networking shouldn’t just be about LinkedIn connections—it’s about real friendships and mutual support. I’ll organise social groups and events where we can share ideas, debate issues, and connect on a deeper level.

Mixing Big Ideas with Big Fun: We all love discussing serious topics, but let’s keep it fun, too! From mock UN debates with quirky twists to socials celebrating world cultures, I’ll ensure every event is as insightful as it is enjoyable.

Being Your Voice: Have an idea or suggestion? I’m here to make it happen. As your representative, I’ll ensure our members have a say in shaping the society’s direction and that all our events reflect what you want.

Vote Samuel Lee for Events Director—I’m ready to bring energy, ideas, and a commitment to making IPAS Society a place that we all enjoy. Looking forward to seeing what we can accomplish together!

Meghna Banerjee

I am Meghna Banerjee. I am from India and am currently doing my MSc in International Public Policy.  I express a deep desire to stand for the role of Head of Events for the International Public Affairs Society. The society is departmentally led and I believe that I can contribute to its growth by initiating collaborations with other societies, organizing events where learning can meet fun such as quizzes and debates, and arranging talks/ panel discussions with eminent personalities from the fields of International and public affairs, followed by dinners to promote more social interaction amongst students. During my undergraduate studies, I was involved as an event head in the Student Welfare Office, where we organized events to promote the interpersonal relations between the students, during which, I learnt that events are not something that just carry out one primary function, they are multifaceted and can lead to an individual's mental, social, academic and personal growths. Students attend events to learn, meet new people and take back something valuable. I have carried out multiple events in the past, and am truly satisfied when these events can offer something for the students to remember. If I am given the privilege of holding the afore-mentioned position, I promise to contribute my best along with my team to deliver more fun and interesting events for students that can uplift the society and truly bring out what it has to offer in the academic year 2024-2025.
