Ishita Gupta

I am running for the role of Social Media Director because I believe in the power of storytelling and community engagement to connect with our members and to highlight the remarkable talent  present in our society.
As a passionate member of the society and an enthusiastic dancer, I want to help elevate our brand and attract new members all while remaining faithful to the vibrant creativity that sets our society apart from the others others.
Through building an engaged community, I want to give our members a chance at being celebrated and shared with the rest of the world. In previous years, I was the Public Relations Officer for Project Concordia, a student initiative focused on highlighting gender disparities in the workplace, in homes and in schools. With the help of our content, we collaborated with students from Florida, Mumbai and Singapore and conducted interviews with working-class individuals. My team and I showcased all our findings in a four-part documentary series called Understanding Connections. With my experience in digital content creation and community engagement, I am confident that I can bring fresh ideas to our social media platforms.
I want to introduce a “theme of the month” scheme where members can choose to share their own choreographies and creativity in relation to the theme. As the social media director, my goal is a cultivate a welcoming environment where everyone feels included and we can celebrate our collective passion for dance.

Vibha Shetty

Hi, my name is Vibha and I’m running for social media manager for Indian Dance Soc.  Having previously been an active member of the society for the past year I would love to join the committee and help it grow and expand to reach all aspiring dancers in UCL. I’m a dedicated and hardworking individual who will aim to make the social media the best it can be via interactive and engaging posts. I hope to maintain the standards kept within the social media but also increase engagement via new posts and stories. I have previous experience using Canva in my roles of Mental Fitness Ambassador during school and am also a quick learner who can think on their feet. I’ve been dancing my entire life and would love to give back to this society and create a warm and welcoming environment for all dancers.
