Graphic Novels and Comics Society: Events Officer

I am applying for this position because the society has given me a strong sense of belonging, and I would love the opportunity to give back by contributing. I look forward to collaborating with other committee members to organize engaging events that all members can enjoy. Additionally, I hope to develop transferrable skills through this role for my personal growth.

Hi! I'm Tom. You might know me as the guy who has highlights in his hair, or a somewhat unhealthy obsession with hamsters.  
I'm standing to be your Events Officer at GNCS, and I'd really appreciate your vote!

I'm standing because:

• I love this society and want to contribute even more to it! (This was the first society I joined at UCL!!)

• I want to increase the scope and range of our events, not only because I want us to eclipse anime society to prove that we are undeniably better, but also because I want to make sure that everyone in this society feels like there's something they can take part in and thrive :)

• I want access to the committee chat (because I feel like they all gossip about us in there).
• I like to organise my time, and want to apply this skill to help our society and serve this community :D

As your events officer I would:

• Arrange more events with other societies to increase collaboration! I would love to see a broader range of people involved in our events
 and more publicity for our society.
• Ensure that everyone feels included and can take part in all our events, regardless of their skill sets!  
• Be open to your suggestions for new events!

• Try to make sure that we can find timings that work for everyone, so that as many people can join in as possible :)

I've been a part of GNCS unofficially for a year and now that I'm finally an official member, I wanna contribute as much as possible to the GNCS world domination agenda!

A year ago I joined GNCS because the vibe was a perfect escape from the stress of outside life. Personally this society was a huge part of my life last year and I made so many weird and cool friends and we made all kinds of cool things together!

I really want to bring this experience to as many people as possible and help GNCS grow and spread through the galaxy :)

I have been a member for just over a year now and have been a lifelong fan of fiction in general, especially comics. I was previously the welfare officer of the Anime society and have helped out with some (very few) GNCS events. I am in the lucky position that I have connections within the comics industry which would allow me to organise talks from artists and writers directly which, I think, could be a very good opportunity for the society to give a unique experience to it's members. I am in my final year so will be quite busy but I should be able to make enough time to help out with other events organisation as well as coming up with ideas of my own. Anyways ignore my grammar I just freestyled this so yeah 😭 vote for me... Or dont
