Gaming Society: Discord Manager

I have served as the Interim Discord Manager for the last few weeks already. While traditionally, discord manager is a role with less demanding responsibilities than some of the other Officers, I have taken it upon myself to turn that around and consistently strive to improve the discord server and everyone's experience with it.

So far I have added a feedback and suggestion system, along with various bots and features to make the server more sleek and integrated with Discord's newer UI. Similarly, I have been adjusting the layout and organisation of the server behind the scenes to enhance the other Officers' and Admins' abilities to run their various sectors of the society.

In the future, I plan to extend our online events even further and involve more of our niche-game and single-player game communities in various game nights. With this, I hope to revamp those respective channels of the server to allow the community to engage even more with the games they love.

I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know and help out the members of our society, and I would love to continue to undertake this role over the rest of the academic year.

Hi, my name is Akib, however you may know me as Akiboss321 over on discord. I am currently a 2nd year chemical engineering student studying here at UCL, but more importantly I am a proud member of the UCL FFreaks, a valorant team playing in both NSE and NUEL. I am an active member of the UCL gaming society and discord servers, and would love to help maintain and improve the safe community created by the founders before me. This community is a space which has helped me massively, and I would like to pay forward helping others who were in my situation, helping people find lifelong friends or just a good time.
