Hi everyone! My name is Ananya, and I’m running for the First Year Representative role at the Diplomacy Society.

From debating issues like the India-Kashmir conflict with my cousins to starting an initiative supporting rural women in Thailand (today4tomorrowblog.com please check us out) - politics has always been a big part of my life. My passion for diplomacy deepened when I was selected as a student ambassador and traveled to the United Nations HQ in New York, where I actively participated in workshops on diplomacy and the SDGs.

As your representative I will:

  1. Advocate for first year perspectives: Run surveys, informal chats, set up feedback sessions to understand how the society can better serve first year students.
  2. Organize events tailored to First Years: networking sessions, workshops on topics like public speaking, career paths in diplomacy, etc. Aside from academics, I will also try to help you settle into the opportunities from society.
  3. Enhance engagement and participation: Develop creative ways to encourage first-year involvement in society activities, such as icebreakers, or start a buddy scheme which pairs first years with second/third years!

Of course that’s not the end! I will be coming up with more ideas on how to represent my fellow first years the best. As your rep, I will work tirelessly to support the diverse interests of our community and bring my enthusiasm to build a collaborative environment for us all.

Vote for me!
