Data Visualisation Society: Welfare Officer

Hi DataViz fam!

Since hopping on board as interim welfare officer in September, I’ve been bringing the energy to make our society shine brighter than ever. From giving our branding a bold refresh (have you seen those new Insta posts?) to planning events with just the right amount of chaos (workshops are coming—stay tuned!), it’s been a blast helping make DataViz more exciting, accessible, and, yes, well-fed. (Shoutout to everyone who joined for free pizza and beer at our first IOE Bar social!) And trust me, there’s much more in the works!

On the skills front, I’m more than ready to level up our workshops, with R, Python, Power BI, Flourish, and SQL as my toolkit. I’m all about helping create fun, hands-on sessions that leave our members feeling confident and inspired.

If elected as your Welfare Officer, I promise to keep the vibes high, the support strong, and the memes plentiful. I’ll bring an approach focused on listening, laughing, and the occasional low-stakes data quiz for fun. From socials to daily chats, I’ll be here for the well-being of every data enthusiast among us.

So, if you’re looking for a Welfare Officer who’s part supporter, part chaos coordinator, and 100% dedicated to the team, I’m your person.
