Michelle Khaing Soe

I am one of the few Burmese students in UCL. It is important to keep this small community united while trying to make it more well known as much as possible. As someone who was one of the members that were included in the talks for the founding of this society, I believe I am capable of doing so. Thank you.

Aye Myat Mon

As a motivated and committed student at UCL, I am excited to nominate myself for the role of Social Secretary of the UCL Burmese Society. My previous experience in leadership roles, combined with my passion for fostering cultural unity and community involvement, has prepared me to make meaningful contributions to our society.

As Vice President and Founder of Taylor’s College's Myanmar Society, I worked closely with other society members to promote Burmese culture and inclusivity through events and collaborations with other cultural clubs. I developed strong organizational skills by planning and coordinating various successful events, such as the Around the World Fiesta. My work there and in other volunteering roles, such as my position as Projects and Events Executive with C.S.I. Volunteers, taught me the value of teamwork and the importance of creating inclusive, engaging environments.

If selected as Social Secretary, I would bring this same level of dedication to organizing events that celebrate our culture, connect our members, and enrich our UCL community. I am eager to work with others to bring new ideas to life, manage communications effectively, and build a supportive, vibrant space for Burmese students.
