Any community is defined by its people. My primary goal is to create a similarly well-defined atmosphere for a society that is so attentive to visual beauty. I am standing for this role because I understand how important it is for the backstage of an evening in a gallery, opera, or with a guest lecturer to be prepared as carefully as its content. The absence of competent management feels like a missing puzzle piece to me - almost like an invisible yet crucial detail on a large Max Ernst canvas, where every little element counts.
I am driven by creating events that leave impressions worth sharing and reminiscing about with like-minded individuals. Teamwork is an integral part of this process. Side by side with the Events Officer, I want to create events that will be discussed during breaks between lectures, months later on holidays, and decades later in the halls of museums and creative agencies if your life eventually leads you to the art-business industry. And my duty is to make that happen.
See you at the gallery!
Hello! My name is Ashley, and I am a final-year History of Art undergraduate. I am standing for this position as I hold a strong interest in the intersection of business and the art world, which has been complemented by my experience working in galleries and auction houses in London and Singapore.
My ability to collaborate within a committee setting can be demonstrated by my role as Training Secretary for the UCL Muay Thai Society last year. During my time on the committee, I successfully organized and planned weekly sparring sessions, demonstrating my commitment to the society as well as my organizational skills. If elected as Deputy Events Officer, I will prioritize the seamless execution of events and collaborate closely with my fellow committee members to ensure that every Art Business event is enjoyable, engaging, and accessible to all members.
Looking forward to seeing you at the next event! :)
