Hello all!
Happy New Year! Here’s a brief overview of why I want to run as EIC one last time!
I’ve been the acting EIC since November and I served as the EIC over the 2023/24 academic year. During my first tenure I was part of an award winning team which brought the SU ‘Publication of the Year Award’ home to its rightful place - The Cheese Grater.
I have been at the CG since October 2022, having served in various editorial and non-editorial roles over the past 2-and-a-bit years. Due to my experience dealing with the many parts of our society, I feel as though I would be the best pick in continuing as EIC for the remainder of the academic year.
I have a great loyalty to the CG and have worked alongside the current editorial staff to produce our outstanding new issue - this is the start of something special for our publication and I would love to continue playing a central role in our society’s upward trajectory.
I also appreciate the CG for more than just its outstanding journalism; it is truly a special society in terms of its social vibrance and welcoming disposition. I ultimately wish to continue fostering this atmosphere. I also wish to continue our publication’s unwavering commitment to reporting on institutional shortcomings, student democracy and the issues impacting those without a voice in the UCL community.
I would be eternally grateful if you voted me in one last time for the position of EIC.
