Donella Torcassi

Sport: Dressage

Course: History BA

Ambition: My goal is to represent my country at the European Championships, as well as support the Equestrian Team at UCL!

Sporting Achievements: I am an international dressage rider for Italy. In 2017 I won several national competitions as well as becoming Elementary Regional Champion, placing third in the Elementary National Championships, and winning the Junior Italian Cup. In 2018-2019 I took a gap year, to train. I have had a very successful year training and competing, from winning my Young Rider (U21) debut, to coming in second in my first International, to winning a silver medal at the Central Italian Young Rider Championships, to becoming Absolute Regional Champion, with several great International placings and National wins in between, but more importantly I had so much fun!

Bio: I grew up in Berkeley, California, which is where I originally fell in love with horses. When I was 12 I moved to Tuscany with my family, to learn Italian and to have an adventure. It was supposed to be for one year, but we loved it and ended up staying! I went to school there for 4 years, then came to the UK for 6th form, where I did the IB. I then moved back to Italy for my gap year and now here I am in the UK again! Aside from riding I love to read, bake, travel, explore London and to go for a coffee with good friends.
