About Us

Originally founded as UNICEF on Campus Society and previously In Aid of UNICEF Society, we rebranded to broaden our partnerships and expand opportunities for students to engage with a wider network of non-profit organisations supporting children and young people. Today, Voices for Children Society connects students with charities and professionals working across the children’s sector, creating opportunities to learn, volunteer and create change!

In recognition of our impact to volunteering, we were awarded UCL Students’ Union Volunteering Society of the Year 2024-25 and achieved Gold Development Level status, reflecting the range and scale of our work.

What We Do

We partner with charities across the UK to connect students with volunteering opportunities supporting children and young people. Our partner organisations include The Honeypot Children’s Charity, Coram Beanstalk, The Kids Network, The Children’s Society, NSPCC, Little Lives UK, Kindle Corner and WONDER Foundation.

We run innovative and collaborative fundraising events across the UCL community. These events also raise awareness for our partner charities while bringing together students from across different societies. Recent initiatives include talent showcases, bake sales, poker tournaments and a gala — this year, we’ve raised over £1,000 so far.

We regularly host talks and collaborative events with leaders from the charity and social impact sector to allow students to learn directly from organisations working on the front lines of children’s advocacy.

We organise fun and relaxing socials for our members to support wellbeing. Recent collaborations have included ArtsUCL, UCL Yoga and Meditation Club, Art Society, Friends of MSF Society and international groups, such as Dauphine University’s In Aid of UNICEF Society.

Our Community

At the centre, Voices for Children Society is a community of students passionate about making a difference. We shape our events and initiatives based on member feedback and prioritise wellbeing, inclusivity and collaboration across the UCL community.

By combining volunteering, fundraising and advocacy, we aim to empower students to contribute to the organisations working to improve the lives of young children. Plus, it looks excellent on the CV 😉
